Who Is This Course For?
Ultrasound is now identified as an essential skill and has been included in the curriculum at all levels. This course is meant for you if you are an Acute or Emergency Physician, whether you are a Resident doctor, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Medical Associate Professional or a Consultant.

What will I Learn on The Course?
This practical course is suitable for those new to the clinical applications of focused ultrasound as well as those with prior experience of ultrasound. Learn how to set up the machines and USS knobology. Become familiar with the physics of Ultrasound and the training and certification requirements in USS for EM. Become competent in the basic skills required to achieve Level 1 accreditation in USS.

Course Curriculum
This course will give you the skills to confidently integrate POCUS into your everyday Emergency/ Medical practice. Learn through hands-on scanning, image interpretation, case discussions, and evidence review. The course covers the topics outlined in the new curriculum including:
- Ultrasound Physics, Knobology and Image Optimization
- Focused assessment for Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm (AAA)
- Lung Ultrasound covering Pneumothorax/pulmonary oedema and Pneumonia
- Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma (EFAST/FAFF)
- Echo in Life Support (ELS) and shock assessment
- Vascular Assess- Central and Peripheral
- Fascia Illiaca Compartment Block
